You Should Check Your Bicycle Tires Before You Go For A Ride

Just like automobiles and motorcycles, bicycles have tires. You should check your bicycle tires before you go for a ride. A flat tire is not fun to deal with, no matter what type of vehicle you are operating, bikes included. Maintaining proper pressure in your tires is a must, as it can avoid flat tires.

When bicycle tires go flat, it is often due to a hole in the inner tube. The inner tube often has to be repaired or replaced. That’s why you should have a repair kit and a spare inner tube on hand at all times. This allows you to simply remove the tire, repair or replace the inner tube, replace the tire, and air it up. If you do not have a repair kit or a spare inner tube on hand, you’ll have another step to complete – going to the store to buy a kit or an inner tube.

It is not uncommon for bicycle tires to lose air at times, so it is wise to have a tire pump on hand. When you check the tire pressure, you may find that your tires need a little more air. If you have a pump on hand, it is easy to put additional air in your tires. Otherwise, you’ll have to go to a local gas station to air your tires up. Depending upon how far the nearest station is, you may be risking a flat tire on your ride there. Many stations charge for air as well, and having your own pump means that you won’t have to pay each time you need to air up.
